Smith Barn Located at the Felton-Smith Historic Site, adjacent to Peabody's idyllic Brooksby Farm, the Smith Barn is the perfect setting for corporate events, business meetings, reunions, picnics, and anniversary, birthday and holiday parties. Rich in beauty and significance, the Felton-Smith Historic Site represents over three centuries of the region's history and is home to several historic landmarks including the Nathaniel Felton Junior and Senior Houses and the Peabody Historical Fire Museum.
The historic Smith Barn is situated on a picturesque hilltop surrounded by two hundred and fifty acres of orchards and conservation land. In 1902, Joseph Smith, a wealthy shoe manufacturer from Lynn, purchased the land and established Brooksby Farm. In 1903, he built the barn to store apples harvested from the surrounding orchards, grain for the animals and farming implements. The spacious, meticulously restored barn can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 240 people. Ample parking is available, and the first floor is accessible. The Smith Barn is available for rent from March through November. The Felton-Smith Historic Site is located just two miles from Interstate 95 and Routes 1, 128 and 114.
